Revit Family Files
Revit Family Files
Launch Autodesk Revit.
Open the host project where you want to link the architectural file.
In the Ribbon, go to the Insert tab.
Click on Link Revit (under the "Link" panel).
A file browser window will open.
Locate and select the architectural Revit file (RVT) you want to link.
Before clicking Open, choose the positioning method:
Auto - Origin to Origin (Best if both models were created using the same origin)
Auto - Center to Center (If you are unsure about origins, this aligns the centers of both models)
By Shared Coordinates (If shared coordinates were already set)
Manual (If you prefer placing it manually)
Click Open, and Revit will load the linked file into your project.
Go to the Visibility/Graphics (VG) settings.
Under the Revit Links tab, ensure the linked file is visible.
Adjust display settings if needed.
If you need to track updates in the architectural model:
Go to the Collaborate tab.
Click Copy/Monitor > Select Link.
Choose elements like levels or grids to monitor.
If the architectural file updates, go to Manage > Manage Links.
Select the linked file and Reload to update changes.
